A Day with Our Team: From Greenhouse to Export Shipping

Hola, plantfolks!

Ornamental plants are now increasingly in demand across the globe. But have you ever wondered about the process involved before a plant reaches collectors in different countries?

Let’s take a look at one full day with our export team — from greenhouse to ready for international departure!

  • Morning in the Greenhouse: Plant Health Check

The day begins with a thorough inspection in the greenhouse. Our team checks every plant set for export — starting from the roots, leaves, and stems, while also preparing the planting medium using sphagnum moss.

  • Cleaning & Quarantine

The Indonesian quarantine authorities are responsible for declaring whether a plant is eligible for export — ensuring it’s free from pests and diseases. Only the healthiest plants pass this selection.

The selected plants are then cleaned — roots are washed free of soil (to meet international quarantine standards), and the leaves are sprayed with a natural anti-fungal solution.

Afterward, the plants are placed in a quarantine room for observation and laboratory testing before packing.

  • Export Administration & Documentation

While the technical team works on the plants, our admin team handles the export documentation, including:

  1. Phytosanitary Certificate from the quarantine agency
  2. Invoice and packing list
  3. Customs documents and import permits required by the destination country

These documents are essential to ensure the plants clear customs and arrive safely abroad.

  • Export Packing: Secure & Lightweight

The export packing process is very strict. Plants are wrapped using special materials:

  1. Roots are covered with moist sphagnum moss and wrapped in plastic
  2. Tissue and special paper are used to protect the leaves
  3. Then packed in a sturdy box

Everything must be lightweight, shock-resistant, and prevent the plant from becoming stressed during transit.

  • Final Quarantine Check & Airport Clearance

Before shipping, quarantine officers re-inspect the plants and verify all documents. Once approved, the plants are sent to the airport cargo warehouse to await their flight schedule.

  • Ready to Fly!

The plants are ready to fly to their destination country. This is the most thrilling moment — we always hope every leaf and root arrives intact and fresh when unboxed by our customers abroad.

🌍 From root to leaf, we take every step with care and responsibility. For us, exporting plants is not just about business — it’s about sharing the beauty of Indonesia with the world. 🌍
